Close family members, children or a spouse, are not responsible for care costs unless you sign as a guarantor or sign a contract. Only the person who is receiving care, and their estate if they are deceased, are responsible for care costs.
How much money can you have before paying for care?
As of the time of writing, if you have more than the upper capital limit of £23,250 in England you will need to pay care costs.
