How quickly can home care start?
We can arrange for home care very quickly, typically within days, and we are experts in dealing with hospital discharges.
What is included in home care services?
Home care services can include domiciliary care (cooking, light housework, etc), personal care (help with dressing, going to the toilet, washing, grooming) and companionship. We can also provide overnight care and full time live in care.
How much does home care cost in London?
The price for home care depends on the level of support that is needed. Short term, temporary, or companionship costs less than full time live in care of someone with complex medical needs who requires supervision 24/7. Our prices start at £22 an hour.
Can care be arranged after a hospital discharge?
Yes, we have helped many people at hospital discharge. If you live alone, have mobility issues (on crutches or in a wheelchair) or need time to recover from illness, we can arrange care to assist in your recovery.
Do you offer emergency care?
Yes, we can provide emergency care when there is an urgent need for immediate care. Call our care team on 020 4548 9300 to access emergency care.
Can home care visits be increased later?
Our home care support plans are flexible and often change over time as an illness progresses or a person finds they need more care than they initially anticipated. Care plans cover a few hours a week to full time live in care.
Are the carers DBS checked and trained?
All our carers are DBS checked and we have a full in-house training programme to keep them up to date with changes to legislation and to improve their care provision.
Can we request a carer who speaks a particular language?
Yes, you can request a carer who speaks a particular language. We have carers who speak a range of languages – English, Arabic, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu and more – and we match carers to families.
Do you provide culturally sensitive care?
As a South Asian family business, we are aware of the culturally diverse area of London city we live and work in. In care, making sure that a service user and their family are understood is important and that their individual needs for religious, cultural, dietary or gender preference is catered for. That’s why we match carers to the family they care for.
What areas of London do you cover?
We live and work in East London, and have care teams covering neighbouring boroughs, e.g. Barking & Dagenham, Tower Hamlets, Redbridge, Waltham Forest, Hackney, Islington, Kensington & Chelsea, Kensington, Westminster, and more.
What is the difference between domiciliary care and live in care?
Domiciliary care covers everyday living tasks like getting up in the morning, meal preparation, and light housekeeping. It is typically arranged as visiting care for a few hours a day or week. With Live in care a carer lives in the home full time and overnight care can be arranged.
Can you support people with dementia or autism?
Yes, we support people with dementia or autism. We provide home carers who are trained to be dementia friendly. We also support adults with autism with home care and live in care, and our carers are trained to be autism aware.
Will we have the same carer each visit?
Most families have the same carer for each visit but carers may need time off, in which case we will schedule in another carer. We are experienced in transitions between carers to reduce confusion and upheaval for the person receiving care.
Can family members be involved in care planning?
We actively encourage family members to be part of the care planning process. It is built into our procedures to involve families in decision making around care.
