SEN CHILDCARE Services

Individualised care plans
Each child will receive a personalised care plan tailored to their specific needs, preferences and developmental goals. We work closely with families to ensure our care aligns with their expectations and requirements.

Enriching activities
Our team of experienced caregivers will engage children in activities designed to stimulate growth and development. These activities aim to enhance cognitive, emotional and physical development, providing a well-rounded approach to care.

Support for independence
We focus on promoting independence in a safe and supportive environment. By teaching essential life skills and encouraging self-reliance, we help children build confidence and autonomy.

Safe and inclusive environment
Our facilities are equipped to provide a safe, inclusive and welcoming space for children with SEN. We prioritise their comfort and security, ensuring they feel at home while in our care.

Highly trained staff
Our caregivers are fully trained and experienced in working with children with SEN. They possess the knowledge and skills needed to address various challenges and provide compassionate, effective support.

Parental involvement
We believe in the importance of parental involvement in the care process. Regular communication with parents and guardians ensures that they are informed about their child’s progress and any adjustments needed in the care plan.

Complete development
Our services aim to support the all-inclusive development of children, addressing their educational, social and emotional needs. We work to create a balanced routine that incorporates learning, play and rest.

Community engagement
We encourage children to participate in community activities and events, promoting social interaction and a sense of belonging. This helps children develop social skills and build meaningful relationships.
“Without hesitation, I would highly recommend your services to others, as the level of care and support we have received is unparalleled. We are truly thankful for everything you have done, and we extend our heartfelt appreciation to the entire team.
Thank you once again.” – SSC
childcare for sen children faqs
How long does it take to arrange childcare for SEN children?
We can arrange childcare for SEN children quickly and efficiently, typically within a few days of first contact.
Are the child carers qualified?
Yes, we take safeguarding very seriously and our carers are all DBS checked and trained by our own in-house team so we get to know them before we place them for childcare. Jothno Care and Support’s service was rated Good by the CQC.
Can you help with a child that is disabled?
Many of the children that we support have disabilities. Our childcare team is trained to be autism friendly, and they can manage complex conditions like physical or sensory disabilities.
What happens if the carer is ill or goes on holiday?
We have home care teams who are experienced in transitioning from family caregiver to agency care and from carer to carer. Jothno Care and Support will provide cover for the carer if they are ill or go on holiday and we will ensure a smooth transition.
Can we have a south Asian carer?
We match home carers with families who are compatible. We will look at the needs (e.g. aging, dementia, physical disability, learning disability), personality, and cultural requirements of the person who needs care. We will also take into account any requests for a particular nationality of carer.
How long can childcare be provided?
Childcare can be provided for as long as you need it. Children with special education needs and disabilities often need long term care to help them become independent. We have worked with some of our families for years.
Can you arrange respite care?
Yes, we can arrange short term respite care for a family caregiver who is looking after a child with special needs.
